Our model is the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. Over 30,000 school children visit it each year!

About the SNOMNH Staff

Michael Mares, Director, has served as Chair of the American Association of Museums Accreditation Team for the American Museum of Natural History in New York, the Peabody Museum at Yale University, and the San Diego Museum of Natural History , and has served on the Commission for the Future of the Smithsonian Institution . He has been an LSU Chancellor's Distinguished Lecturer . He is President of the Natural Science Collections Alliance and President-elect of the 4,000-member American Society of Mammalogists .

Peter Tirrell, Associate Director, has served on the International Committee of University Museums and Collections , which is a subcommittee of the International Council on Museums.
